As a Payroll Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire payroll process, ensuring that all employees are compensated accurately and timely. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and an in-depth understanding of payroll systems. You will be responsible for supervising the payroll staff, reconciling payroll data with accounting records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Supervisor will also act as a point of contact for employees with payroll inquiries, and they must address any issues or discrepancies promptly. Additionally, you will collaborate with HR and finance departments to streamline payroll functions and implement process improvements for greater efficiency. 


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of payroll clerks in processing payroll data.
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll data by regularly auditing records and processes.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management in a timely manner.
  • Oversee payroll tax reporting and compliance with all relevant laws.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing complex information.
  • Maintain payroll systems and fix any issues or errors that arise promptly.
  • Develop payroll policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist with payroll system upgrades and the integration of new software solutions.
  • Coordinate with HR on salary adjustments, new hires, and terminations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information.
  • Provide training and support to payroll staff on best practices and procedures.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve any issues regarding their paychecks.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in payroll management positions needed.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations required.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of supervising teams.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills are mandatory.
  • High level of integrity and ability to keep confidential information secure.
