A Fleet Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the management and oversight of a company's fleet operations. This position requires a strategic and organized individual who can effectively coordinate with various departments to ensure the seamless operation of all fleet-related activities. The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the health and productivity of the fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are serviced regularly, licensed, and meet safety standards. Additionally, the role involves logistical planning to optimize the use of the fleet, cost management, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, and possess exceptional communication abilities to liaise between teams and external vendors. A Fleet Coordinator drives efficiencies across the fleet operations, thereby supporting the overall business objectives in a reliable and sustainable manner.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles to meet operational needs daily.
  • Oversee the maintenance schedule to ensure safe and reliable vehicle performance.
  • Manage fuel usage and inventory levels to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Regularly update and maintain fleet records, including inspections, licensing, and registrations.
  • Monitor and analyze fleet expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities effectively.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for repairs and maintenance negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations related to fleet operations.
  • Implement efficient routing plans to optimize fleet utilization and decrease downtime.
  • Develop training programs for drivers to enhance safety and efficiency standards.
  • Utilize fleet management software tools for streamlined operations and data analysis.
  • Communicate with various departments to understand and resolve fleet-related issues.
  • Prepare regular reports for management on fleet operations and performance metrics.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or a related field of study.
  • Proven experience in fleet coordination or transportation management roles.
  • Strong understanding of fleet management practices and vehicle maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using fleet management software and related technologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced work environment fluidly.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
