Job Description

A Logistics Operations Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective management of the logistics and supply chain operations within an organization. This pivotal position involves overseeing and coordinating the entire process from procurement to distribution, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products. A strong emphasis on communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills is essential to successfully address the dynamic challenges encountered in logistics. The Logistics Operations Officer is expected to liaise with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers, warehousing personnel, and transportation service providers, to facilitate seamless navigation of goods and materials. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of the logistics department effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to improve logistics operations.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and transportation service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international logistics regulations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Conduct risk assessment and contingency planning for logistical challenges.
  • Supervise and mentor logistics staff, fostering a teamwork-oriented environment.
  • Implement and improve logistics software for tracking and reporting.
  • Prepare accurate logistics reports for management review and decision-making.
  • Identify and resolve any logistical issues or bottlenecks promptly.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
