Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing a company’s receivables system, ensuring that incoming funds are properly accounted for and that clients are billed accurately and on time. This role requires the blending of sharp analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to lead and motivate a team. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining relationships with both external clients and internal departments, while continuously improving processes and implementing industry best practices. They must be able to manage disputes, handle complicated financial information, and provide meaningful financial reports to management. Successful supervisors will have excellent communication skills and the ability to cultivate a positive and efficient work environment. They must keep abreast of changes in financial laws and regulations that may impact the department, ensuring full compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounts receivable team to ensure high efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and address daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow in the department.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to accounts receivable management.
  • Regularly review accounts receivable aging reports to manage outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with the finance team to assess departmental procedures.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments while maintaining favorable client relationships.
  • Handle escalated client issues, ensuring satisfactory resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and training for the team.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports for management review, as needed.
  • Work closely with internal departments to enhance cash flow forecasting accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Act as a point of contact for audits related to accounts receivable functions.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related business discipline.
  • Minimum five years of experience in accounts receivable management or similar role.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a high-performing team.
  • Strong proficiency in standard accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for client interactions.
  • In-depth understanding of financial reporting and accounts receivable processes.
  • Problem-solving skills with a strong ability to handle complex reconciliation tasks.
