Steel Structure Designer (225-811)

As a Steel Structure Designer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing steel structures for a variety of industrial, commercial, and residential projects. You will be responsible for creating detailed designs and models, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The role requires strong technical knowledge in engineering principles, material science, and computer-aided design (CAD) software. Responsibilities

• Develop detailed steel structure designs using advanced CAD software and tools.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand and incorporate project requirements.
• Conduct structural analyses to ensure designs withstand various stress and load factors.
• Prepare accurate engineering calculations and documentation for review and approval.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international building codes and regulations.
• Revise designs and models based on feedback from project stakeholders and clients.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with construction teams to clarify design specifications.
• Provide technical support and solutions to design and construction challenges.
• Perform site visits as necessary to evaluate design implementation and identify issues.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in steel design.
• Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on complex design tasks and problem-solving.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in steel structure design and analysis in professional settings.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software like AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, health and safety regulations, and design standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail in design work.
• Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
