Job Description

The IT Operations & Support Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the day-to-day operations of an organization's IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of hardware, software, and networks, as well as providing technical support to end-users. The IT Operations & Support Technician will assist with troubleshooting technical issues, deploying new technologies, and maintaining system documentation. They serve as the first point of contact for technical support, and their problem-solving skills are essential in quickly identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime. This role requires a proactive approach to managing IT resources and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and end-users.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain user workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot network connectivity issues promptly.
  • Assist in the deployment and upgrading of IT applications and systems.
  • Ensure the security of hardware and software by implementing best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and support logs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure system efficiency.
  • Manage IT inventory including hardware, software licenses, and cloud subscriptions.
  • Provide training and support for end-users on new technologies and tools.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members on complex technical projects and tasks.
  • Monitor and respond to IT service desk requests in a timely manner.
  • Support remote users with VPN setup and basic troubleshooting practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS environments and applications.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and basic network management skills.
  • Familiar with cloud computing technologies and remote access solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
