Job Description

As a Merchandiser, you are an integral part of ensuring that products are available and presented in a way that aligns with company standards and customer expectations. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, retailers, and your internal team to analyze market trends, forecast demand, and devise strategies that maximize sales and profit margins. With a keen eye for detail and an understanding of consumer behavior, you will create appealing product displays and coordinate with other departments to maintain inventory levels. Your role is crucial in influencing product placement strategies and understanding seasonal market dynamics to optimize product visibility and accessibility. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to meet sales and profit targets.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to forecast product demand accurately.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and retailers to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Design and set up product displays that are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Monitor product inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse for stock replenishment.
  • Prepare and present sales and performance reports for internal review and analysis.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to stay updated on market trends and pricing strategies.
  • Coordinate and participate in promotional activities to boost brand recognition.
  • Work alongside the marketing team to ensure cohesive branding across all platforms.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to negotiate better terms and pricing.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of merchandising plans and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in merchandising activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in merchandising or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to forecast market trends accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier collaboration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong sense of visual and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Familiarity with retail management software and digital merchandising tools is advantageous.
