Job Description

A Junior Architect is an essential member of an architectural design team, tasked with supporting senior architects in the development of building projects. This role includes participating in various phases of design, from conceptualization to construction documentation. The Junior Architect is responsible for drafting design concepts, creating detailed schematics, and collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure the vision aligns with client requirements. Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing initial design concepts for multiple building projects.
  • Prepare detailed schematics and technical drawings using CAD software tools.
  • Support the senior architects in drafting architectural plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to architectural designs.
  • Participate in site visits and on-site inspections ensuring design integrity.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, contractors, and design teams effectively.
  • Research building codes, regulations, and zoning laws for project compliance.
  • Assist with preparing documentation for building permit applications and approvals.
  • Ensure design solutions align with client goals and project budget constraints.
  • Utilize 3D modeling tools to create visual presentations of design concepts.
  • Contribute to project meetings and presentations to stakeholders and clients.
  • Continuously update project progress and maintain records of design iterations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field is required.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, is essential.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with teams.
  • Ability to interpret and apply building codes and regulations accurately.
  • Previous internship or related experience in architectural drafting is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced design and build environment.
