In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company's payroll operations to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. You will collaborate with the finance and human resources departments to optimize payroll processes, maintain compliance with relevant laws, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and processing of the full payroll cycle for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll-related regulations.
  • Manage tax-related tasks such as reporting, filing, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with finance to integrate payroll with accounting ledgers and budgets.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries promptly.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring strict confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Monitor and implement changes to payroll policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Prepare and distribute yearly wage summaries and other tax documents for employees.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure payroll aligns with company benefit plans and compensation structures.
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing payroll processes and systems.
  • Provide training and support to junior payroll staff or other team members as needed.
  • Stay informed on the latest payroll and taxation regulations and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management or administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, systems, and federal/state regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software; experience with systems like ADP or QuickBooks preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage confidential information.
