Job Description

The MEP Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and servicing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. This position requires a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The MEP Technician is responsible for ensuring that all systems are running efficiently and in compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role involves regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and the repair of systems. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough knowledge of HVAC, electrical wiring, piping, and plumbing systems. With advancements in building technologies, the MEP Technician will also need to stay up-to-date with the latest practices and adapt to innovative solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems effectively.
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty or outdated components and systems.
  • Coordinate with the project team for installation and testing of new systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for system installations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and submit reports as required.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to procure necessary tools and materials.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and system alarms.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and apprentices on best practices.
  • Stay updated with technological advancements and implement new solutions proactively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training in relevant fields.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an MEP Technician role or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical wiring, and plumbing system installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment for system assessments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for on-site tasks.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces when necessary.
