Health Care Assistant

As a Health Care Assistant - MID, you will be responsible for providing essential care and support to patients in medical or healthcare facilities. Your duties will include assisting with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes to the healthcare team. You will also be required to assist with feeding, mobility, and positioning of patients, while ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain accurate patient records, follow established care plans, and adhere to all healthcare protocols and guidelines. The ideal candidate for this position will have a compassionate and caring demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience in a healthcare setting and relevant certifications may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients and assist them with activities of daily living.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate.
• Assist healthcare professionals with clinical procedures and examinations.
• Administer medication and assist with medication management under the supervision of a nurse.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, following infection control protocols.
• Help patients with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices as needed.
• Document patient information accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure proper care coordination.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.
• Attend training sessions and participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior experience working in healthcare or related field is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
