Physical Therapy Assistant

The Physical Therapy Assistant  supports physical therapists in delivering rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. This role involves guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, documenting progress, and ensuring sessions are performed safely and effectively. Candidates should be empathetic, detail-oriented, and capable of motivating patients toward recovery goals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.

• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and mobility routines.

• Monitor patient progress and document observations accurately.

• Educate patients on proper techniques and post-treatment care.

• Set up and maintain therapy equipment before and after sessions.

• Ensure a safe and clean environment in therapy areas.

• Communicate patient concerns or changes to the supervising therapist.

• Encourage patient participation and build trust during rehabilitation.

• Assist with administrative duties, including scheduling and patient records.

• Adhere to all healthcare and confidentiality regulations.

Requirements:

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

• Valid PTA license or certification as required by local authorities.

• Prior experience in a clinical or rehabilitative setting preferred.

• Strong understanding of physical therapy procedures and safety protocols.

• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

• Good physical fitness and stamina to assist in patient mobility.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a healthcare team.

• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
