Freelance 2D Animator

A skilled 2D animator is required to create a 25–30 second animated trailer for Starlife: Colors of Redemption, a personal creative project based on an upcoming book release. All key assets, including character designs, storyboard, and voice/audio files, will be provided. The animator’s role is to bring these elements to life with dynamic anime-inspired visuals that captivate the audience and communicate the story’s themes. The animation should draw inspiration from styles such as One Piece or Mob Psycho, with impactful shot composition and energetic pacing. This is a single project with the potential for follow-up work, and delivery is expected within 2–3 months.

Responsibilities

• Animate a 25–30 second trailer using provided character designs, storyboard, and voice/audio files.
• Produce high-quality anime-inspired animation with dynamic movement and strong visual impact.
• Apply creative shot composition, transitions, and pacing to keep the trailer engaging.
• Incorporate lip-sync, character actions, and effects where needed.
• Ensure final animation reflects the energy and themes of the source material.
• Deliver polished assets on time in formats suitable for online promotion and publishing campaigns.

Skills and Requirements

• Proven expertise as a 2D animator, ideally with experience in anime-inspired work.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating dynamic character animation, impactful shots, and storytelling.
• Proficiency with animation software such as Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, TVPaint, or equivalent.
• Ability to follow existing character designs and storyboard while adding creative enhancements.
• Skilled in timing, action choreography, and visual effects for high-energy scenes.
• Experience working on trailers, teasers, or short promotional animations is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate effectively on remote projects.
• Capacity to deliver within a 2–3 month timeline.
