Animator

An animated short film project titled To Look Like Him is in development, centered on themes of memory, identity, and generational connection. The film will span 6–8 minutes and is inspired by true events, weaving together childhood recollections, WWII-era England, and symbolic garden imagery to evoke emotional depth. The role requires a skilled animator or small team to bring this poetic vision to life using visually expressive and metaphor-rich animation. The aesthetic direction is flexible—ranging from 2D to minimalist styles—provided it enhances the film’s emotional tone. This is a festival-intended piece, with final delivery expected by January, and presents an opportunity to contribute to a project that values creative storytelling and cinematic impact.

Requirements

• Proven experience in narrative or artistic animation projects, especially short films
• Strong storytelling ability through visual and symbolic imagery
• Proficiency in 2D or minimalist animation styles
• Sensitivity to emotional tone, pacing, and visual metaphor
• Ability to collaborate on creative direction while maintaining production deadlines
• Experience preparing content for film festival submissions
• Capacity to complete the project remotely with delivery by January
