Job Purpose

The Cargo Network Optimization Controller will plan and monitor the performance of the Emirates SkyCargo freighter network to optimise route economics and aircraft utilisation. Analyse operational data to support short and long-term network adjustments and contribute to strategic projects. Lead a team of network planning analysts and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders. Provide actionable, data-driven insights to enhance profitability and operational efficiency. Ensure alignment with corporate objectives and deliver sustainable network solutions.

In This Role You Will

  • Monitor and analyse freighter route performance, including load factors, yields, costs, and contribution margins. Identify underperforming routes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the development of route-level business cases and network proposals by providing detailed profitability models and revenue/cost forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards, models, and reports using tools such as Power BI and MicroStrategy to assist in evaluating network performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support decisions on route adjustments, aircraft scheduling, and fleet deployment.
  • Evaluate the impact of changes in passenger schedules or market conditions on freighter performance, and propose suitable network changes.
  • Supervise and coach a small team of analysts to ensure timely reporting and development of analytical capabilities, such as suggesting improvement plans for low-performing freighter routes in collaboration with sales, network stations, capcon, and pricing teams.

  • Coordinate regular reviews of route proposals and updates to the freighter schedule by preparing briefing materials, route profitability snapshots, and dashboards.

Qualification

To be successful in this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • 5+ years experience in Logistics/Cargo/Air Cargo
  • Experience in a cargo network planning, performance, or commercial analysis role, with some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of freighter and passenger belly cargo operations, cost drivers, and revenue analysis.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with hands-on experience in tools such as Excel, Power BI, and cargo performance systems.
  • Ability to interpret data to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Working knowledge of route economics, fleet utilization, and scheduling constraints.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
