Job Description

A Product Merchandiser plays a crucial role in the retail industry, responsible for ensuring that products are displayed in a way that maximizes sales and enhances the shopping experience for customers. This dynamic position requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and an understanding of consumer behavior. The Product Merchandiser works closely with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for product presentation and promotion. They are also responsible for analyzing market trends and data to make informed decisions about product displays. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with business goals.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to enhance product promotions.
  • Create visually appealing product displays to engage and attract customers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure product availability on the sales floor.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and customer preferences.
  • Analyze sales data to assess the effectiveness of merchandising strategies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely product procurement and delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store appearance daily.
  • Train sales staff on effective merchandising techniques and customer engagement.
  • Adjust merchandising plans based on seasonality, promotions, and store needs.
  • Report on competitor activities and recommend strategic adjustments.
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of promotional displays and in-store events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail or merchandising role is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Creative flair with a keen eye for visual merchandising and design.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with retail software systems.
