Retail Marketing Internship In Mumbai

Sideways is a problem-simplification and solutions agency. We make it easier for people to adopt products, services, and ideas by adopting an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Sideways Play is our toys and games vertical where we conceptualize, design, and market original game patterns under brands like WordIt!, Diicii, etc.

We are building it as the world’s most loved word game franchise. We’ve created a basket of word games and puzzles: WordIt!, WordIt! Cubes, Quicksay, and Crossoku. We have also built a digital version of the game and are bringing in many more.

These games and puzzles are available through Hamleys, Crossword, and Amazon. We also host school tournaments, events, and pop-ups to market the game.

We’re now looking to expand our in-store presence with more active demo-led engagement. We are seeking a retail marketing intern to conceptualize, ideate, and pilot our retail engagement model in Mumbai. It is a unique opportunity to hone your learning through on-ground, hands-on interventions within the internship.

Selected Interns Day-to-day Responsibilities Include

• Operationalize live game demos at High Street Phoenix Hamleys store in Mumbai
• Drive engagement with kids and parents at retail point of sale through interactive games and contests
• Understand buying behaviour across different types of parents (casual walk-ins, purpose-led walk-ins, Kids of different age brackets, Fathers vs Mothers and devise the right nudges to create consideration for the word games.
• Proactively observe the retail space and interactions, ideate and implement improvement opportunities at retail that can enhance the sales conversion ratio.
• Develop a plan of action to roll-out the pilot learnings at scale across all stores.
