Senior Systems Architect

Role Summary

Responsible for the complete design of a company product or system from technical roadmap to architectural designs. Defines appropriate platforms and system specifications. Determines core server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements and networking protocols. Develops technical, tactical and strategic plans, systems definition and feasibility determination.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the overall architecture, external interfaces and detailed functional description of the solution.
• Perform technical evaluations of major system enhancements and major new customer requirements.
• Create detailed system level functional requirements and specifications.
• Monitor standards body activities to and participate (if necessary) to influence the industry with innovative vision of the company.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and market disruption.
• Provide active support for, product management, pre-sales and marketing activities including technical solutions support in the RFI/RFP response.
• Provide system level technical support in customer meetings.
• Work closely with engineering and QA teams to drive the timely and quality release of new products and features.
• Provide guidance and leadership to junior members of the team.
  
  

Job Requirements

• In-depth knowledge on mobile networks, especially with 5G Policy Control Function (PCF) and related SBI interfaces (N7, N5, N15, N24).
• In-depth knowledge on mobile networks, especially 4G Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) and the related interfaces (Gx/Gxc/Sy/Rx/Sh ,Sp ).
• Sound understanding of Policy Control and Charging (PCC) architecture and Traffic Detection Function (TDF) is a must.
• In-depth knowledge of IMS/ VoLTE / VoWi-Fi technologies.
• Sound knowledge of Diameter and Radius protocol.
• Good understanding of AMF, SMF, UPF, PCEF, PGW and GGSN is desirable.
• Possess a sound understanding of the essential elements of Systems engineering, including how to convey requirements to development and QA teams.
• Familiarity with NFV standards and ecosystem is an added advantage
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills for a variety of audiences, including executives, partners, and customers.
• Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts.
  
  

Qualification

• BS Degree in EE or CS. MS Degree is highly desirable.
• At least 12+ years’ experience in the telecommunication industry in systems engineering roles.
