Job Description

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations and administrative aspects of our organization. You will work under the supervision of the Finance Manager and be responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial records, processing invoices, and managing financial transactions efficiently. Your role is crucial in maintaining the day-to-day financial activities and ensuring compliance with the company's policies and procedures. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with various departments, providing valuable insights and contributing to the financial integrity of the firm. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled at managing numbers and documents.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review and analysis.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments promptly and accurately to ensure cash flow management.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and ledgers, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Reconcile bank statements monthly to maintain transparent financial management processes.
  • Support the budgeting process by compiling data and developing financial forecasts.
  • Help conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary documentation for financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax documents and filings, working alongside external auditors.
  • Manage petty cash, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation of expenditures.
  • Provide administrative support during audits and ensure the timely resolution of audit queries.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to address payment-related inquiries and issues.
  • Support the Finance Manager by providing data and insights for ad-hoc financial projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Clerk, or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using financial software, spreadsheets, and accounting systems.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and vendors.
