Job Description

A Collection Executive plays a critical role in managing the accounts receivable portfolio of a company. This position is focused on ensuring that overdue accounts are resolved at the earliest and that all outstanding balances are collected promptly. As a Collection Executive, you will be responsible for handling client communications, negotiating repayment plans, and gathering overdue payments. Your expertise in maintaining positive relationships with clients while ensuring company policies are upheld will contribute significantly to the overall financial health of the organization. You will thrive in this role if you possess excellent negotiation skills, persistence, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations professionally.


Responsibilities

  • Contact clients via phone or email to discuss overdue accounts and payment terms.
  • Negotiate payment plans or settlements with customers to resolve their debt efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions and payment agreements in the company database.
  • Follow legal and company procedures to ensure all collections processes are compliant.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports on collection activities to management.
  • Identify accounts that require further intervention and escalate them appropriately.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to clients to maintain positive relationships.
  • Monitor aging reports to track outstanding balances and prioritize collection efforts.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations to ensure collection practices are within legal bounds.
  • Assist in developing strategies to improve the efficiency of collection processes.
  • Support the training of new staff in collections policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a collections role or similar financial position is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle objections constructively.
  • Familiarity with legal regulations related to debt collection and financial practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
