Job Description

The Financial Controller is a key leadership role within the finance department, responsible for overseeing all financial reporting and accounting activities. This role involves developing financial strategies, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring accurate financial information is available for decision-making by senior management. A successful Financial Controller must exhibit strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. They should be adept at financial software and tools, demonstrating a deep understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements. Their primary objective is to maintain an efficient and effective financial management system that supports the organization’s goals.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and auditing standards.
  • Develop and implement financial control systems and processes for accuracy.
  • Manage and oversee the accounting department in day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to assist in business strategy formulation.
  • Lead efforts in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Develop guidelines for financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate and execute financial and tax audits as required.
  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds where needed.
  • Manage financial risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources effectively.
  • Improve financial policies for efficiency and adaptability to changing needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA or relevant financial certification is strongly desired for this role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in finance management.
  • Proven experience in managing financial reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial analysis techniques.
  • Excellent leadership skills with proficiency in team management and training.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP is essential.
  • Exceptional analytical skills paired with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting to stakeholders and executives.
