Job Description

A Senior Accountant plays a vital role within the accounting department of any organization. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. As a Senior Accountant, you will be deeply involved in financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing processes. You will utilize your expertise to analyze complex financial data, prepare financial statements, and assist in strategic planning. Attention to detail and proficiency in accounting principles are crucial for this role. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership skills, as the position often involves mentoring junior accountants and collaborating with other departments to drive financial performance and support business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including monthly close processes.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, financial regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Analyze financial statements to identify trends and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and ensure all financial data is precise and up-to-date.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, preparing documentation as required.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company's financial integrity.
  • Review accounting discrepancies and recommend effective solutions to management.
  • Liaise with external auditors and financial institutions as necessary.
  • Support management in financial decision-making with actionable insights and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with progressive responsibility.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle is necessary.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
