The Senior Accountant is a vital role within our finance department, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements through comprehensive and precise accounting practices. This position requires a meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to manage and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Senior Accountant will contribute to strategic financial planning and analysis and assist with audits, budgeting, and forecasting processes. The candidate will work closely with other departments to streamline financial processes and provide insightful financial advice. Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Ensure all accounting entries are accurate and in compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports to provide accurate and timely financial insights.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and address any discrepancies or issues discovered.
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of financial forecasts and budgeting processes.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficient financial operations.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems and reporting tools for improved accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and legislation.
• Provide financial analysis support for various projects and initiatives within the organization.
• Collaborate with department heads to facilitate understanding and control of financial planning and outcomes.
• Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of five years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly.
