Job Description

As a Safety Inspector, you will play a crucial role in maintaining workplace safety and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will be responsible for inspecting equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure they meet safety regulations. Your keen eye for detail will help in identifying hazards and implementing safety protocols to minimize risks in the workplace. You will work closely with other team members to educate and train staff on safe work practices. Your contribution will be vital in fostering a culture of safety and promoting awareness across all levels of the organization. You will also prepare detailed safety reports and give actionable recommendations based on your findings. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify unsafe conditions or violations of safety regulations.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives focused on workplace safety improvement.
  • Collaborate with department heads to establish safety priorities and address compliance issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and suggest corrective actions to management.
  • Monitor the installation and use of safety equipment to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and update the company’s safety policies accordingly.
  • Advise management on the cost of implementing safety enhancements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with external safety agencies during audits and compliance checks.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure safety materials and equipment meet required standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a safety inspection or related role within the industry.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to workplace inspections.
  • Effective communication skills for conducting training and discussing safety issues.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make sound safety decisions quickly.
  • Proficiency in using safety inspection equipment and safety-related software programs.
