We are now looking for another team member to join us in the Procurement Department as the Procurement Engineer, based in Oman or Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

What you’ll be doing:


We are seeking a motivated Procurement Engineer to oversee Indirect Materials & Services across the UAE and Oman. The role will encompass responsibility for the following tasks:


1. Sourcing and Vendor Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for indirect materials/service, spare parts, and other plant & Quarry needs.
  • Conduct market research to identify competitive pricing and sourcing options.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable pricing and delivery terms.
  • Carrying out the contract management process in coordination with the other department.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed metrics (quality, delivery, cost) and address any issues.
  • Creating action plans for suppliers by making periodic supplier evaluations.


2. Purchase Order Management:

  • Generate and process purchase orders based on plant & Quarry production requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods by tracking purchase orders and communicating with suppliers.


3. Cost Optimization:

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, volume discounts, and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Analyse spending data to identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and track their impact.
  • Taking an active role in continuous improvement projects.


4. Quality Control:

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to ensure procured materials meet quality standards.
  • Implement quality checks on incoming deliveries.
  • Address quality issues with suppliers promptly.


5. Compliance and Reporting:

  • Adhere to company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
  • Generate regular reports on procurement activity, including cost analysis and savings achieved.
  • Contributing to the preparation of annual operational and investment budgets.

  • Bachelors degree in a related field (Engineering degree is preferred).
  • Min. 5-years-experience.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Good command of MS Office Applications and ERP systems, SAP knowledge will be plus.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skill.
  • Being strong communicator and having good negotiating skills.
  • Analytical thinking, result and quality-oriented approach and good interpersonal skills.
