Job Description

The Store Assistant plays a pivotal role in providing support and ensuring effective and efficient operations within a retail environment. They are responsible for assisting customers, managing inventory updates, and maintaining overall store health to deliver an outstanding shopping experience. Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
  • Manage and replenish stock levels to ensure store shelves remain full.
  • Assist in organizing store displays and visual merchandising activities.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the checkout.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of store premises at all times.
  • Coordinate with the store team to manage daily store operations effectively.
  • Handle customer complaints and inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures, including cash management tasks.
  • Support inventory management through regular stock-taking and updates.
  • Monitor product quality and report any issues to the store manager.
  • Assist in the training of new store staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Promote special offers and loyalty programs to customers actively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
  • Previous experience in a retail environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for customer interactions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and handling cash transactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
