Job Description

The Operations Manager-Logistics is a pivotal role within any organization, responsible for overseeing the complex logistics processes and ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods. This role demands strategic planning, resource management, and the ability to adapt to ever-changing scenarios in the logistics domain. An Operations Manager in logistics must possess exceptional leadership skills to manage teams, coordinate with various departments, and interact with third-party logistics providers. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the daily operations of the logistics department to ensure timely delivery of all shipments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure efficient and effective supply chain processes.
  • Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies regarding transportation and logistics.
  • Negotiate contracts with transportation and logistics service providers for better rates and terms.
  • Lead and develop the logistics team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align logistics activities with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Utilize logistics software and technology to track, analyze, and improve transportation and warehousing operations.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the logistics department, ensuring cost-effective operation.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop contingency plans for logistics processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Operations Manager or in a similar role within the industry.
  • Strong understanding of logistics software and tools such as ERP and TMS systems.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with a focus on team development.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and make decisions based on insights.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to foster relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • A deep understanding of supply chain and logistics concepts and best practices.
