Job Description

The Operations Manager is a pivotal role within any organization, responsible for overseeing the production of goods and services. This crucial position ensures that an organization is running efficiently and effectively, with smooth day-to-day operations. The Operations Manager is charged with coordinating various departments—such as production, purchasing, warehousing, and stores—to ensure that customer needs are met efficiently. They focus on improving productivity by managing resources, optimizing processes, and implementing strategic initiatives. The role also involves financial management to ensure operations run within budget and meet performance targets. An Operations Manager acts as a bridge between the upper management and the operational teams, facilitating communication and ensuring that the operational strategies align with the business goals.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee daily operations and coordinate with department heads for smooth workflow.
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business units to ensure company goals are met.
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&Ls to ensure cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Enhance operational procedures, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow.
  • Improve processes and policies to support organizational goals and strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with upper management and key stakeholders for alignment on objectives.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate team performance to achieve operational excellence.
  • Identify operational challenges and develop innovative solutions to resolve them.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and support operational innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar leadership role is required.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and business operations.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Ability to analyze data and formulate actionable plans for operational improvements.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and operational management systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise with various departments and stakeholders.
