Job Description

The Offshore Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards in offshore environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in promoting safety cultures, risk assessment, and emergency response on offshore sites such as oil rigs, wind farms, or maritime facilities. This role demands not only technical knowledge but also strong communication and leadership skills to effectively influence and ensure adherence to safety protocols among diverse teams. The Offshore HSE Advisor will work closely with operations managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement HSE policies and continuously improve safety standards. Success in this position requires proactive identification of safety risks, implementation of mitigation strategies, and conducting regular audits to uphold safety integrity and environmental responsibility.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE strategies and policies for offshore operations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Facilitate risk assessment and hazard identification processes within the team.
  • Lead and conduct safety training sessions and emergency drills for offshore staff.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and incident investigations.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local and international standards.
  • Provide expert advice on safety procedures and environmental protection strategies.
  • Promote a safety-first culture through effective communication and leadership.
  • Develop emergency response plans and coordinate their implementation with onsite teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into project plans.
  • Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used by all offshore personnel.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on HSE findings and recommendations to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in an offshore HSE or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore industry regulations and environmental standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify safety risks quickly.
  • Proven track record of conducting effective safety training and emergency drills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse team environments.
  • Certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is highly desirable for this role.
  • Proficient in using HSE management tools and relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure offshore settings.
  • Willingness to travel and work on offshore platforms for extended durations.
