Job Description

The Instrumentation and Control Inspector is a critical role that involves ensuring the quality and integrity of instrumentation and control systems in various engineering projects. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of technical specifications and regulatory requirements. The Inspector will work closely with engineering teams, contractors, and technicians to inspect, test, and validate the instrumentation and control systems both in the field and during the production processes. Expect to spend a significant amount of time reviewing blueprints and technical schematics, as well as preparing detailed inspection reports and recommendations for corrective actions when necessary. The role demands not only technical expertise but also strong communication skills to provide feedback and support continuous improvement in all phases of system instrumentation and control.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of instrumentation and control systems to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Develop and implement inspection plans and schedules based on project timelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address any discrepancies identified during inspections.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports documenting the findings of inspections and tests performed.
  • Verify calibration processes and proper functioning of instrumentation equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and industry regulations at all times.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior inspectors and team members.
  • Perform functional tests on control systems to validate their effectiveness and reliability.
  • Review and interpret technical documents and drawings related to instrumentation systems.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to report on inspection outcomes.
  • Monitor installation processes to ensure proper setup and configuration of control systems.
  • Recommend corrective actions and improvements for systems and processes where needed.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems within an industrial setting.
  • Minimum of a diploma in engineering, instrumentation, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience in inspections, quality control, or related roles is essential.
  • Familiarity with the latest industry standards and regulations for control systems.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills in technical environments.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively write reports and communicate with teams.
