Job Description

The HR Officer is a pivotal role within an organization, serving as the bridge between employees and management. This role involves managing and overseeing various human resources functions, promoting and implementing HR policies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. The HR Officer is charged with maintaining an organized and efficient HR department while contributing to the development of a positive workplace culture. They must adeptly handle employee relations, manage recruitment processes, administer benefits, and execute performance management strategies. Additionally, HR Officers often play a key role in talent development, helping to drive organizational success by ensuring the workforce is engaged, supported, and performing to the best of their abilities. The ideal HR Officer is detail-oriented, empathetic, and possesses a strong understanding of HR best practices and employment regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals effectively.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process from job posting to onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems efficiently.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs promptly.
  • Maintain and update employee records both digitally and on paper.
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives to aid employee growth.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and recommend suitable actions or rewards.
  • Advise management on HR-related issues and legislative changes regularly.
  • Foster a positive working environment by promoting equal opportunity.
  • Coordinate with department heads to determine staffing requirements continuously.
  • Assist in developing and modifying HR policies and procedures periodically.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an HR officer capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in HR management software and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience with recruitment and employee onboarding processes is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are a plus, but not required.
