Job Description

A Financial Controller plays a vital role in the financial management and operations of an organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring that financial statements and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Financial Controllers provide leadership in financial decision-making, safeguarding company assets, and assist with formulating financial policies. They are critical in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. As the organization’s financial health is their primary focus, Financial Controllers are key players in strategic planning and have the responsibility of providing insights that can guide company executives in making informed business decisions.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounting department to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements and reports to management.
  • Develop and implement internal financial controls and procedures for efficiency.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
  • Manage budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost analysis processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and guidelines in operations.
  • Provide insightful financial analyses to assist senior management in decision-making.
  • Supervise financial reporting, accounting operations, and consolidation activities.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial transactions to safeguard company assets.
  • Evaluate and manage financial risks to minimize business exposure.
  • Maintain and enhance the effectiveness of financial software systems.
  • Develop strategies to optimize financial performance and increase profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or similar certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of financial management experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with experience in managing finance teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in the use of financial management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
