JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for Environment, Safety and Health (ESH), combined with a strong commitment to Sustainability. This position has primary responsibility to ensure World-Area level ESH activities & new initiatives for the MEA Flow controls business unit. We are looking for a professional who is ready to work in innovative and high growth business environment, complex engineered products manufacturing environment and to implement the best-in-class process and programs to protect our people and environment. The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Life Cycle Services ESH, Global ESH, MEA corporate ESH Management, and local country ESH representatives.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Review, Maintain and Develop policies and procedures to cultivate a strong culture of safety and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of ESH programs to mitigate risk, prevent injuries, and protect people, property, and the environment.
  • Provide HSE expertise and take ownership for implementing tools, standards, and proven methods.
  • Harmonize and standardize MEA processes and initiatives, promoting collaboration within the HSE community and implementing proven techniques.
  • Adopting Global and world area level strategies to the MEA FCV level ESH priorities.
  • Drive innovative programs which brings Engineering solutions to all the hazards.
  • Ensure ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Certification through timely audits and effective closure of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to embed ESH accountability and cultivate a positive safety culture.
  • Ensure all new projects within the organization have acquired all required authorizations and permits.
  • Provide continuous leadership in reducing the operating costs related to ESH for the facilities through energy conservation, waste minimization and injury prevention etc.,
  • Track, analyze and communicate ESH performance through a combination of leading and lagging indicators. Align the improvement priorities in line with the indicators.
  • Serve as the MEA system administrator for all ESH tools such as Velocity and Environment Health Safety (ENHESA) regulatory compliance and risk management audit tools; understand, assimilate, and mentor key users.
  • Own the development of ESH plans, establish objectives, and monitor progress using important metrics to ensure compliance and improve performance.
  • Conduct inspections and audits and ensure timely communication of findings and corrective actions.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives, drive emission reduction strategies, and foster green teams to achieve NetZero targets in line with Emerson targets.
  • Green House Gas reduction initiatives and drive the programs.

For this role, you will need:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Engineering / Safety Science / Occupational Health or related
  • 10+ years’ experience in ESH role preferably in the Mechanical industries.
  • Practical knowledge of ESH regulatory compliance and industry trends.
  • Lead Auditor in ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 (or previous 18001).

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Engineering Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or National Board Examination
  • Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
  • Experience in using technology, devices, training techniques related to ESH
