What You’ll Do

The focus of the role is to lead and manage EHS strategies to support the designated Services Cluster and Sales Countries EHS performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide management and oversight of EHS processes and initiatives
  • Identify gaps and help drive ongoing improvement through existing programs and develop new safety programs/requirements as needed.
  • Work closely with the leadership and employees to promote knowledge of and conformity with EHS programs and requirements
  • Assist with identifying safety exposure/risks areas and developing short term and long-term strategies/corrective actions.
  • Coordinate/conduct required safety training and additional training to meet local leaderships specific safety needs
  • Partner with business leaders to assist with identifying and developing local safety initiatives that meet current requirements and additional specific safety needs.
  • Represent Eaton in front of external parties (e.g. customers and authorized service providers) for EHS matters.
  • Manage EHS questionnaires from customers during inquiry to order stage. Ensure regulatory Safety Files are completed and presented to customers.
  • Facilitate EHS processes and provides technical and administrative support such as site EHS inspections and audits, subcontractor management or periodic competency assessment (LOTO and Qualified Electrical Worker) to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Eaton EHS requirements.
  • Manage safety prequalification platforms to meet customer safety requirements
  • Develop and implement safety programs for deployment to a distributive/remote workforce including but not limited to new PPE requirements, corporate policies and regulations and local/state requirements
  • Works with other EHS Managers to maintain consistency across each region/group
  • As needed, participate/lead investigation of injuries, conditions and incidents that do or could involve actual or potential liability, and assist in the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and communicate regulatory requirements and ensure the organization understands how specific requirements pertain to their business.
  • Assist with regulatory inquires and investigations as needed.
  • Lead/manage company or division-wide projects/teams.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or in a related field with experience in safety and health.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical field and/or EHS in an industrial or electrical industry.


Skills

  • Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent).
  • In depth knowledge of safety and industrial hygiene practices and regulations and basic understanding of industry standards related to Health & Safety as applicable to the region.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, PowerApps, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse safety data and determine gap closure.
  • Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Previous experience delivering informative/instructional presentations to field based and management level employees.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to champion positive change.
  • Experience developing safety and training programs.
  • Possess a cooperative temperament and have demonstrated the ability to create and maintain a positive working relationship with employees and contractors.
  • Experience analysing safety related incidents, including analysis of root cause.
  • Excellent Business Acumen.
  • Possession of a valid unrestricted driver’s license and a personally owned or leased vehicle to commute to various facilities throughout the assigned territory.
