Job Description

A Construction Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that construction projects run smoothly from inception to completion. They are responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, and overseeing all facets of construction projects. This includes collaborating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the specified quality standards. Construction Managers must possess strong leadership skills to manage a team of workers effectively and to navigate the challenges that can arise during construction. They also ensure that all operations are carried out safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and codes. With an eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities, Construction Managers are vital in bringing architectural designs to life while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate various stages of construction projects from beginning to end.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  • Ensure that construction activities adhere to legal guidelines and safety regulations.
  • Hire, supervise, and manage the performance of subcontractors and construction staff.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues promptly.
  • Resolve any project-related issues or conflicts in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and present reports on project progress and any changes in scope or cost.
  • Utilize construction management software to track and manage project tasks and resources.
  • Ensure that all construction materials are ordered and supplied in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain detailed records of project phases and complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders for ongoing and future projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in construction management or a similar role in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction management processes and principles.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project management tools.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage a team of construction professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve project complications effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications.
