Job Description

As an Automobile Service Adviser, you will serve as the central point of contact between the dealership's customers and the service department. Your primary role is to assess the service needs of clients, facilitate necessary repair and maintenance work, and ensure a seamless service experience. You will be responsible for customer service, listening to customer needs, and providing advice on the best possible solutions for their vehicles. Your duties entail managing repair orders, estimating service costs, and ensuring customer vehicles are serviced accurately and on time. This dynamic role requires excellent communication skills to maintain and enhance customer relationships and trust, as well as technical knowledge to explain complex mechanical issues in simple language. Success in this position requires a combination of technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet customer expectations and service department goals.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers with their vehicle service and repair needs promptly.
  • Assess customer vehicle issues and provide accurate service recommendations.
  • Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts utilized.
  • Prepare precise repair orders and detailed cost estimates for customers.
  • Explain service details, costs, and repair time estimates to customers clearly.
  • Liaise between customers and service technicians for seamless communication.
  • Ensure timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance services.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any service-related concerns professionally.
  • Coordinate courtesy services, such as shuttle or loaner vehicles for customers.
  • Educate customers on recommended services and dealership's promotions and offers.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and gain customer loyalty.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of service department processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a customer service role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair and service procedures and terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage customers effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic service environment.
  • Proficient in computer systems and service management software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple client requests.
