Job Description

The Storekeeper is an integral part of the supply chain operations, responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role requires a meticulous and organized individual who can manage stock effectively and provide support to warehouse operations. The Storekeeper will handle shipments, record transactions, manage documentation, and oversee the cleanliness and organization of the storage facility. An eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate warehouse management systems are essential. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product availability, optimizing storage processes, and supporting business operations by maintaining precise inventory levels.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming goods to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Organize and maintain inventory spaces for orderly and functional storage.
  • Ensure that stock levels are monitored to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transporters for smooth delivery and dispatch processes.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile stock discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records for inventory and warehouse activities.
  • Implement and follow health and safety procedures within the storage facilities.
  • Deploy best practices for stock placement to optimize space utilization.
  • Facilitate product retrieval and shipment preparation based on order requirements.
  • Utilize warehouse software systems to track inventory and manage operations efficiently.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the storage area through regular maintenance checks.
  • Assist in training, overseeing, and guiding junior staff and new hires in warehouse protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in warehouse or inventory management in a similar role.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and related software.
  • Knowledge of basic safety and security regulations for warehouse operations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and supplier interactions.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods during shifts.
