Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget while meeting the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for managing costs and contracts, ensuring value for money while delivering projects to the agreed standards and timelines. Your keen analytical skills and attention to detail will be critical in minimizing costs and enhancing value for money, without compromising on the quality of our projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects, providing essential insights and forecasts to facilitate decision-making processes. As part of a dynamic team, you will be instrumental in achieving operational excellence and customer satisfaction, cultivating long-term relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. In this position, your proactive approach, strong negotiation skills, and comprehensive understanding of quantity surveying practices will be pivotal in driving project success.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze project costings, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage contracts and collaborate with stakeholders on contract negotiations.
  • Conduct risk, value management, and cost control processes efficiently.
  • Measure and value work done on construction projects accurately.
  • Coordinate with project team members to develop project specifications.
  • Provide detailed reports on project costs, benefits, and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and standards of performance.
  • Advise on procurement strategy and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and architects to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor changes in design and assess their impact on project costs.
  • Negotiate pricing contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure project progress aligns with cost estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role.
  • Proven track record in managing construction project costs effectively.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and contractual law.
  • Excellent numeracy and financial management skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, MS Office, and CCS.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently.
  • Certification from a recognized institution such as RICS is an advantage.
