Job Description

A Data Entry Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of business operations by managing data efficiently. The Data Entry Officer is responsible for recording and updating databases and establishing robust systems to secure and handle high volumes of information. With an excellent eye for detail, a Data Entry Officer possesses the ability to process information with speed and precision in various formats and platforms. Responsibilities

  • Accurately input data into company databases and update records regularly.
  • Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry tasks efficiently.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors and correct discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure data confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with teams to verify or clarify information.
  • Generate reports, store completed work, and manage Excel sheets.
  • Manage data retrieval requests and store backup copies of entered data.
  • Ensure data integrity by conducting regular audits and system checks.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to resolve any data issues or malfunctions.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures for data entry processes.
  • Assist in training new data entry staff and share best practices.
  • Create and maintain reports and spreadsheets as per management directives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
  • Proven experience as a data entry operator or similar position helpful.
  • Fast typing skills with experience using touch typing preferred.
  • Familiarity with administrative duties and office equipment required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inaccuracies efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
