Your role

Roles & Responsibilities

As a key member of our Control System Engineering team within the Compressor Technique business area, you will be responsible for the comprehensive development, programming, and commissioning of advanced control systems tailored for Atlas Copcos range of compressors and related equipment.

  • Develop, design, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems using Siemens, Schneider Electric, and Rockwell automation hardware and software platforms.
  • Conduct programming in various IEC 61131-3 languages including STL, FBD, Ladder Logic, and CFC to fulfil project requirements with precision and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and interface with customers for tailored engineering solutions, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and continuous improvement.
  • Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and commissioning activities, providing on-site support and troubleshooting to guarantee project success.
  • Prepare detailed documentation including logic diagrams, I/O lists, bills of materials, communication lists, alarm and trip lists, and customized monitoring screens to facilitate smooth project execution and customer communication.
  • Drive innovation within control systems engineering by continually proposing and integrating improvements to software coding practices and quality standards.
  • Support project execution with effective coordination involving stakeholders such as clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal management teams.

To succeed, you will need

Ideal candidates will have 4 to 9 years of professional experience in related engineering roles and demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Programming and commissioning experience with Siemens, Schneider, or Rockwell PLC/HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of PLC languages including STL, FBD, Ladder, and CFC.
  • Preferred experience with centrifugal compressors, screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, and related equipment such as dryers or oxygen/nitrogen generators.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles relevant to control systems is an advantage.
