Data Integration Platform And Design Lead

About The Role

Were looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Integration Platform & design Lead to join our growing data team. In this critical role, youll be responsible for the design of integrations in our enterprise-wide data landscape, ensuring seamless and efficient data flow across various systems and applications.

You’ll also take responsibility for defining and maintaining the governance framework for our integration platforms, assuring consistent, efficient usage and managementYoull play a crucial part in shaping our data architecture in close coöperation with our architects, optimizing integration processes, and enabling our business to leverage data effectively.

You will manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholders, while also providing technical oversight and guidance to the team. This position requires a strong blend of project and team management expertise, deep technical knowledge of data integration technologies, and excellent communication skills to drive successful data initiatives.

Responsibilities

Project Delivery:

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple data integration designs, in line with the project timings and budget.
• Provide integration platform expertise to projects where and when needed (architectural design, (non)functional requirements…)
  
  

Operational Excellence

• Oversee the operational health, performance, and monitoring of the data integration platforms.
• Implement proactive measures to ensure platform stability, reliability, and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration issues in a timely manner, where needed in a 24x7 window.
  
  

Documentation & Standards

• Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation of integration platforms, governance, best practices and guidelines.
• Develop onboarding and operational playbooks for new integrations and tools.
  
  

Team Management & Mentorship

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to integration specialists.
• Foster a culture of striving for excellence, documentation, continuous improvement, and cross-team collaboration.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy throughout the integration lifecycle
• Establish and enforce data integration best practices, standards and guidelines.
  
  

Platform Strategy And Architecture

• Define and evolve the strategy and architecture for our data integration platforms, aligning it with our data architects, overall data strategy and business objectives.
• Design robust, scalable, and secure data integration pipelines.
• Evaluate and recommend new data integration technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
• Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of the core data integration platforms.
  
  

Collaboration And Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with data architects, data engineers, application teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data integration requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Act as a goto person for all data integration-related matters.
  
  

Process Improvement

• Continuously identify opportunities to optimize data integration processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data quality through automation, standardization, and new tool adoption.
  
  

Risk Management

• Proactively identify project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate as necessary to ensure successful project outcomes.
  
  

Vendor Management

• Support the data integration manager in governing the relationships with third-party vendors for data integration tools or services
  
  

Technical Expertise

• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data integration, ETL/ELT, data streaming, and cloud data services.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in leading a team, responsible for data integration design and platform governance..
• 8+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level data integrations and platforms.
• Strong proficiency with various data integration tools and technologies, supporting realtime, batch and streaming data processing( (OIC, Kong, Kafka, Fivetran, Boomi, Workato)
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP) and their respective integration services.
• Solid insights on infrastructure architectural concepts (eg, SAAS,PAAS, IAAS, Networking, security...)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Data product principles, DevDataOps, or data platform product thinking.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus
• Fluent in English
