Assembly Engineer

Role Overview

The Assembly Engineer will be responsible for assembling battery packs using recovered cells, ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and performance. This role demands a technically skilled individual with a strong understanding of battery systems, electrical safety, and hands-on assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and reassembly of battery packs using recovered battery cells (Li-ion, NiMH, LiFePO4, etc.).
• Prepare and install BMS (Battery Management Systems), cell holders, insulation, connectors, and wiring harnesses as per design.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance guidelines during assembly.
• Operate battery welding and crimping tools for cell interconnection (e.g., spot welders, ultrasonic welders).
• Conduct pre-assembly and post-assembly checks, including voltage matching, internal resistance testing, and insulation verification.
• Work closely with R&D and testing teams to verify cell compatibility and performance criteria.
• Follow strict safety protocols and handle battery components in an ESD-safe and PPE-compliant environment.
• Maintain detailed records of assemblies, including serial numbers, configurations, and test data.
• Assist in root cause analysis for defects or failures in assembled battery packs.
• Suggest process improvements for assembly efficiency, safety, and quality enhancement.
  
  

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or related technical field.
  
  

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in battery pack assembly or electronics assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with Li-ion or similar battery types preferred.
• Prior experience in an e-waste recycling setup is a plus.
