Job Description

A Housekeeping Executive plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of an establishment, be it a hotel, resort, hospital, or any facility that requires a high standard of hygiene. This position encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring that guests, customers, or occupants have a comfortable and pleasant experience. The Housekeeping Executive supervises a team of housekeeping staff, organizes their daily work, inspects their performance, and ensures adherence to set standards. They are expected to have excellent organizational and communication skills, along with a keen eye for detail. Additionally, the position may require coordination with other departments to ensure seamless operations and addressing any guest concerns promptly and effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the daily activities of housekeeping staff.
  • Develop and implement housekeeping systems and procedures for efficiency.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house for cleanliness.
  • Train new employees on housekeeping protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with management for the timely repair and maintenance of facilities.
  • Provide feedback and evaluations to staff for performance improvement.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure prompt and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and coordinate orders as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Prepare reports on housekeeping performance and make improvement recommendations.
  • Assist in setting departmental targets and objectives to improve service quality.
  • Ensure meticulous attention to detail in all housekeeping operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in housekeeping management or similar role is required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff and guests.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations calmly.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and shift work rotations.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
