Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you play a crucial role in the daily operations of a dental practice. You will work closely with dentists and hygienists to ensure that patients receive high-quality care in a comfortable and calm environment. Your duties will include both administrative and clinical tasks, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, preparing dental tools and equipment, and assisting during dental procedures. The position of a Dental Assistant is ideal for someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure. You will be an integral part of the healthcare team, contributing to the overall patient satisfaction and smooth operation of the dental clinic.


Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during dental procedures by setting up necessary instruments.
  • Sterilize dental instruments and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Prepare and take X-rays under the direction of the dentist.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and dental charts.
  • Welcome and greet patients, and make them comfortable in the dental chair.
  • Provide patients with oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure the dental operatory is kept clean and organized at all times.
  • Order and keep inventory of dental supplies and materials as needed.
  • Assist in the management of dental office emergencies as directed by the dentist.
  • Help with office administration tasks, including billing and insurance processing.
  • Educate patients about different dental treatments and procedures when required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is mandatory for consideration.
  • Completion of a recognized dental assistant program is highly desirable.
  • Possession of a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in using dental practice management software and scheduling systems.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • Capability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced dental clinic environment.
  • Basic understanding of dental procedures, instruments, and patient care protocols.
  • A friendly and patient attitude to provide excellent patient care at all times.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and take feedback for continuous improvement.
