Job Description

The role of an Accounts Assistant is integral to the financial operations within a company. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the accounting and finance department, ensuring smooth and efficient financial processes. The Accounts Assistant aids in maintaining financial records, preparing statements, processing invoices, and tracking receipts. Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports for review.
  • Process and reconcile a wide variety of accounting documents such as invoices and receipts.
  • Maintain and update financial records ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Support the finance team in preparing for audits and financial audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax computations and returns when necessary.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitoring company expenses regularly to ensure accuracy.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial reporting.
  • Provide administrative support and assistance to the accounting department as needed.
  • Assist in managing the budget and ensuring cost-effective solutions where possible.
  • Provide input into forecasting and budgeting exercises when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar accounting role is required.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.
  • Associate degree or equivalent education in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
