Job Description

The MEP Commissioning Manager plays a vital role in the successful completion of construction projects by ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems are fully functional and meet project specifications. This role involves close collaboration with project teams, contractors, and clients to guarantee that the commissioning process is smoothly executed and that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. The MEP Commissioning Manager oversees the development of commissioning plans, conducts systematic tests, and verifies that building systems are running as intended. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, exceptional leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail to promptly identify and resolve potential issues. As sustainable practices become increasingly important, the MEP Commissioning Manager also plays a crucial role in implementing energy-efficient solutions and ensuring compliance with environmental standards.


Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive commissioning plans for all MEP systems in projects.
  • Coordinate with project teams and contractors to ensure alignment on commissioning expectations.
  • Conduct and oversee thorough testing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Verify MEP system performance against project specifications and design intent.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve any issues or discrepancies in system operations.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports and document all test results and findings.
  • Advise on energy efficiency improvements and ensure compliance with sustainability standards.
  • Manage project schedules and resources to ensure timely delivery of commission activities.
  • Train and support facility management teams on the operation of MEP systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding the status and progress of commissioning tasks.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to address any concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP commissioning or similar roles within construction.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage project schedules and resources efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in identifying issues.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and team members.
  • Certification in commissioning practices from recognized bodies is highly desirable.
