Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer with strong expertise in Airline / Aviation domain applications such as PSS (Passenger Service System), DCS (Departure Control System), Reservations, Ticketing, and Ancillaries. The candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable applications and integrations, while also guiding junior developers and ensuring best practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of PHP-based airline applications and APIs.
  • Work on complex airline workflows: Reservations, Ticketing, Check-in, Boarding, Baggage, and Ancillaries.
  • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.
  • Integrate with PSS/DCS systems, GDS (Sabre, Amadeus, Navitaire, Radixx, etc.), and APIs.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers in coding standards and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce high-quality coding practices.
  • Optimize backend systems for high traffic airline transactions.
  • Collaborate with QA, Product Owners, and Airline SMEs to ensure domain alignment.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release management.
  • Work with EDIFACT messages, XML, and JSON for airline integrations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in PHP development (PHP 7/8, OOP, MVC architecture).
  • Proven experience in Airline domain systems (Reservations, Ticketing, DCS, or GDS integrations).
  • Solid knowledge of API development & integrations (REST/SOAP/GraphQL).
  • Strong MySQL/PostgreSQL skills with experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery for frontend integrations.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps).
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and performance optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to mentor teams.
  • Experience in Python

Good to Have

  • Experience with Airline reservation systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Radixx, Navitaire, SITA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of IATA standards (NDC, ONE Order, EDIFACT).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Performance testing and monitoring experience (New Relic, JMeter).
  • Experience in Migration
