Job Description

A Penetration Tester, often referred to as an ethical hacker, is a vital part of an organization's cybersecurity framework. This professional is responsible for simulating cyber attacks on computer systems, networks, and web applications to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the security of the organization's data. By employing the tactics, techniques, and methodologies used by potential cybercriminals, Penetration Testers help organizations reinforce their defenses and stay a step ahead of malicious attackers. It’s a dynamic role that requires a deep understanding of information security, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to think like both an attacker and a defender. In a fast-evolving cyber landscape, the significance of a Penetration Tester cannot be overstated, as they are crucial in safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining trust in the organization’s technological capabilities.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct simulated attacks on networks, applications, and systems to test vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and execute penetration test plans and detailed attack scenarios.
  • Identify and exploit security vulnerabilities in various computing environments.
  • Analyze systems, network architecture, and security controls for weaknesses.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, risks, and recommended security improvements.
  • Stay updated with the latest cyber threats, attack techniques, and security technologies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement and validate security measures and solutions.
  • Conduct security assessments using a variety of tools and software applications.
  • Assist in developing security protocols and incident response strategies.
  • Participate in Red Team exercises to mimic real-world attack scenarios.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate staff on security awareness and best practices in information security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in penetration testing or related cybersecurity roles.
  • Strong knowledge of information security standards, protocols, and practices.
  • Proficiency with penetration testing tools like Metasploit, Nmap, and Wireshark.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical assessments.
  • Certification in CEH, OSCP, or similar security-related accreditation preferred.
