Job Description

A Medical Representative plays a key role in the pharmaceutical industry, serving as the liaison between healthcare providers and the company they represent. They are responsible for promoting and selling their company's medicines and products to doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. This involves maintaining detailed knowledge of the company’s products, understanding the healthcare professionals’ needs, and delivering presentations to educate and inform about new and existing products. Medical Representatives are pivotal in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure the continued success and growth of the company’s product portfolio. The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, along with the ability to understand and convey technical information effectively. This position not only helps in fulfilling the company's sales objectives but also contributes significantly to improving patient lives by ensuring healthcare providers have the most current and effective medications at their disposal.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals in assigned territory.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the company.
  • Conduct regular visits to physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to promote products.
  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to healthcare professionals effectively and persuasively.
  • Stay updated with medical knowledge and product information to answer professional inquiries.
  • Analyze market trends and gather competitive intelligence to develop effective strategies.
  • Record and submit detailed reports on sales outcomes and customer interactions timely.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and industry guidelines when promoting products.
  • Participate in conferences, seminars, and trainings to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Manage expenses within company guidelines, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
  • Assist with resolving customer complaints and queries, providing solutions swiftly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Representative or in a similar sales role is preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and convey technical clinical and pharmaceutical information.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned sales territory as required.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and basic understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Ability to work independently while also effectively collaborating in team settings.
