Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chinese Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of authentic Chinese cuisine and have the expertise to craft delicacies that honor traditional methods while catering to contemporary tastes. We value creativity and innovation in our kitchen, therefore, the Chinese Chef should be someone who is not afraid to experiment with textures and flavors while maintaining the authenticity of the cuisine. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation standards and an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Not only will they be responsible for food preparation, but they will also contribute to menu design and development, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all our guests.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes following traditional recipes and methods.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and quality food service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times.
  • Monitor food stock levels and order supplies when necessary to ensure kitchen efficiency.
  • Collaborate in menu development to introduce new and innovative Chinese dishes.
  • Ensure all dishes meet restaurant standards for quality and presentation.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Chinese culinary techniques.
  • Implement safety and sanitation protocols following health regulations and guidelines.
  • Adjust cooking techniques based on clients’ dietary preferences and restrictions.
  • Conduct quality checks on ingredients and kitchen supplies before use.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate them into cooking practices.
  • Resolve any kitchen operational issues swiftly to maintain service flow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chinese Chef in a reputable establishment is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Chinese cooking styles, ingredients, and techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure while ensuring high-quality production standards.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene, and sanitation best practices.
  • Reliable communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the role.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification in cooking is preferred.
